
Rehearsal Make-Up Assignment
All concert rehearsals are graded. Any absences both excused and unexcused will require the completion of an alternate assignment within a week of your return to school. Complete ONE topic per rehearsal absence. Excused rehearsal absences can earn up to 100% of the points. Unexcused rehearsal absences can earn up to 80% of the points.
COMPOSER BIOGRAPHY
STEP 1: Choose one of the following composers, about whom to write a short biography. If you wish to choose a composer NOT on this list, you MUST have it approved by Ms. Pittman.

STEP 3: List the titles/authors of all materials and resources used and exact addresses for any websites used (Reference Page/Works Cited Page)
JOURNAL SUMMARY
STEP 1: Find a journal article about a relevant choral topic or see Ms. Pittman to choose from a preselected list of journal articles about a relevant choral topic.
STEP 2: Write a 500 word summary and reflection on the topic.
PERFORMANCE COMPARISON
STEP 1: Choose two YouTube videos that feature the exact same choral work being performed by two different live choirs.
STEP 2: Write a 500 word reflection that compares and contrasts the two choral performances of the same song.
STEP 3: List the exact web addresses for the two YouTube videos.
PERFORMANCE REVIEW
STEP 1: Attend a live choir performance that is being presented by a nearby school, university, or church.
STEP 2: Using the performance's program as a guide (if there is one), prepare a 500 word reflection about the concert experience. Include a review of each of the song's performed, as well as, a discussion of the entire concert experience.
STEP 3: List the date, time, and location of the performance and turn in a copy of the program. If no program is available list the concert selections and take a picture of the group performing.
DIRECTOR INTERVIEW
STEP 1: Interview a choir director that works at a nearby school, university, or church.
STEP 2: Prepare a 500 word written summary of the interview.
STEP 3: List at least 10 of the questions you asked this choir director.
VOCAL HEALTH REPORT
STEP 1: Choose one of the following health issues, about which to write a short report. If you wish to choose a vocal health issue NOT on this list, you MUST have it approved by Ms. Pittman.
